The Sharks reassigned Melnichuk to AHL San Jose on Wednesday, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Melnichuk has bounced between rosters since the beginning of December but has yet to appear in an NHL game this season. It would take an injury or COVID-19 designation on the Sharks' goalie depth chart for Melnichuk to possibly get an opportunity.
