  • Sabres' Matt Tennyson: Designated for IR
    By RotoWire Staff

Tennyson (foot) landed on injured reserve Thursday. It appears reports that Tennyson was a healthy scratch against the Penguins on Tuesday were premature as he will instead be placed on IR. Since the blueliner has already missed over a week of action, a retroactive designation would technically allow him to be available Friday against Detroit, but that seems unlikely considering the club called up both Casey Nelson and Kyle Criscuolo from the minors.

  • Tennyson (foot) is projected to be a healthy scratch for Tuesday's road game against the Penguins. Tennyson has missed the Sabres' last three games due to a foot injury, but he's evidently no longer feeling the effects of that ailment. It isn't overly surprising to see coach Phil Housley rolling with different options at defense against Pittsburgh, as Tennyson has struggled this campaign, going scoreless while posting a minus-8 rating in 14 games.

  • Sabres' Matt Tennyson: Ruled out Tuesday
    By RotoWire Staff

Tennyson (foot) won't play Tuesday night against the Capitals, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. The Minnesota native reportedly tested his injury at morning skate, at which point it was decided he wouldn't be lacing up for this next contest. Expect Zach Redmond to fill in for him on the third defensive pair.

  • Sabres' Matt Tennyson: Hampered by foot injury
    By RotoWire Staff

Tennyson used Tuesday's morning skate to test out his injured foot, WGR Sports Radio 550 reports. This appears to be a minor ailment for Tennyson, but the depth defender still won't be used in fantasy hockey. He's posted a minus-8 rating without recording so much as a single goal or assist through 14 games this season. Unfortunately, he seems to have either left his offensive game at Lawson Ice Arena, the home rink of Western Michigan University's Broncos, or the minor-league affiliate of the Sharks, with whom he skated between 2011-15.

  • Sabres' Matt Tennyson: Struggling offensively
    By RotoWire Staff

Tennyson was held pointless and went minus-two in Saturday's 3-2 defeat to San Jose. Tennyson has now started the season with 12 straight pointless games, despite averaging 18:09 of ice time -- including 1:51 on the power play. Although the 27-year-old has never been a big point producer, he's currently receiving career-high ice time and has never had much of a power-play presence before. Tennyson will attempt once again to put his name on the scoresheet Thursday against Arizona.
