  • Blais (suspension) had one shot on goal and logged 8:06 of ice time in Wednesday's 2-1 shootout loss to San Jose. Blais returned from a two-game suspension and was slotted on the left side of the Blues' fourth line. He received a team-low 12 shifts and didn't make much of a dent on the scoresheet. The 24-year-old had six goals and seven assists in 40 games last year and is strictly a bottom-six role player at this stage.

  • Blais has served his two-match ban and will be available against the Sharks on Wednesday. Blais figures to jump into a fourth-line role over Kyle Clifford if he does get into Wednesday's contest, which means fantasy players shouldn't be expecting him to log much more than the 9:30 of ice time he recorded Opening Night against Colorado. The 24-year-old winger could be in and out of the lineup all year as a healthy scratch, making him a low-end fantasy option at best.

  • Blais was suspended two games Thursday for a hit to the head of Avalanche defenseman Devon Toews during Wednesday's opener. Blais' hit came in the first period and earned him a minor penalty, while Toews was able to continue playing in the contest. The 24-year-old Blais will miss Friday's game against the Avalanche and Monday's contest versus the Sharks before returning Wednesday in the second game against the Sharks.

  • Blais will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety for an illegal check to the head of Colorado's Devon Toews. Toews was able to return to Wednesday's game after being checked for a concussion, which could help Blais avoid a suspension. The league should release an announcement regarding any supplementary discipline for Blais ahead of Friday night's game against the Avalanche.

  • Blais had an assist, two PIM and three hits in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 5. Blais set up Ryan O'Reilly for a goal at 19:31 of the first period, giving the Blues the first lead of the game. The 24-year-old Blais has produced a goal and three helpers in seven postseason outings. He's added 22 hits, 12 PIM and a plus-1 rating.
