Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez told reporters Monday that he's going to run with a six-man rotation until an Aug. 30 off day (via David O'Brien on Twitter). He will decide at that point which five will be in the rotation for September.

The activation of Tommy Hanson from the disabled list has created the minor logjam, and he'll join Tim Hudson, Ben Sheets, Paul Maholm, Kris Medlen and Mike Minor in this six-man rotation. The decision on which pitcher to bump likely would have come down to Medlen and Minor, but Gonzalez has delayed making that choice.

In the meantime, this will help the Braves' pitchers stay a bit more healthy and fresh for September.
