The Angels have been mentioned in rumors for Cole Hamels, but it's more than likely they'll have a quiet deadline, said MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez.

• The team is in win-now mode, and has needs, but it probably won't be active at the deadline. 
• Gonzalez cited the extra wild card, and the new CBA as two reasons he doesn't expect the Angels to make a blockbuster trade. 
• With the extra wild card, more teams will be in the race, and unwilling to sell. The new CBA doesn't award draft pick compensation to teams, making it more difficult to make deals.
• The Angels are still hesitant to part with outfielder Peter Bourjos. While Bourjos isn't a full-time player this season, he's still cheap, and the team wants him to be a part of their future. 
• In order for the team to make a big move, Bourjos would probably have to be included in a deal. 
• The Angels' payroll is maxed out, and there's little room for them to make big additions. 
• The team will probably look for help in the bullpen. Gonzalez mentions Huston Street, Jonathan Broxton, Darren Oliver and Jose Mijares as players the Angels might be interested in.
• Shortstop Jean Segera could be a desirable trade chip for the Angels.
