First it was Arismendy Alcantara. Then it was Javier Baez. Now: Jorge Soler.

The latest in a long line of top notch Cubs position player prospects is making his MLB debut on Wednesday night, and he announced his presence with authority by taking Mat Latos deep in his first career at-bat. To the action footage:

That was no cheapie either. Soler cleared the little bullpen seating area in center field. The kid has some big power and he showed it off early in his career.

In case you're wondering, Soler is the first Cub to go deep in his first career at-bat since current teammate Starlin Castro back in 2010, according to MLB.com's Carrie Muskat.

Get excited, Cubs fans. The future is turning into the present.
