Kevin Garnett is setting the record straight regarding one of the most infamous, rumored chirps in NBA history. In an interview with GQ, Garnett says that he never told Carmelo Anthony that his ex-wife, La La Anthony, "tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios."

"I've never said anything about anyone's family. I've never said anything to Melo about La La," KG, who was a notorious trash talker during his NBA days, said. "I'm a Frosted Flakes man. I'm not a Honey Nut Cheerios guy."

It has long been speculated that Garnett uttered the phrase when the Celtics were taking on Carmelo Anthony's Knicks in January of 2013.

During the game, the two NBA stars became heated and were spotted yelling at each other in the tunnel after the game ended. Garnett told GQ that he doesn't know where the rumor about the Cheerios comment regarding La La Anthony started, but he wanted to finally set the record straight.

La La and Carmelo Anthony have since filed for divorce and La La even touched on the fight between Garnett and Carmelo in her 2014 book, "The Love Playbook." She wrote in the book that the Honey Nut Cheerios comment was never uttered.

"Kevin Garnett in fact had never said that I tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios," La La wrote. "I tried to figure out how this big lie was turned into a media firestorm. I still can't answer that one. Melo and Kevin are cool today. And now it's nothing but a faint memory."
