For years, the NBA has offered up all out-of-market games via television providers or broadband versions of League Pass for one all-inclusive price point. But for the first time in the history of League Pass, the NBA will be giving a little bit more flexibility to its fans in terms of wanting to watch those games in different markets. The league announced on Wednesday the price points for League Pass and Team Pass, while also now offering up a new feature.
You will now be able to purchase individual out-of-market games for $6.99 this season, instead of having to pay for all of the teams in one lump sum. The regular League Pass option will be available starting September 8 for $199, while the Team Pass can be purchased for $119.99. From the NBA:
NBA League Pass, the out-of-market live game service, will tip off the 2015-16 NBA season by providing fans with the opportunity to purchase single games and individual team packages. Along with these new offerings, also available again will be the traditional, comprehensive full season package, which provides access to nearly 1,000 live out-of-market games. NBA League Pass for the 2015-16 season will go on sale Sept. 8. Pricing will be as follows:
League Pass: $199
Team Pass: $119.99
Single Game: $6.99
If you don't want to commit to the entire League Pass and don't plan on going nuts with watching a lot of out-of-market games this year, this will be a good option. However, that will net you roughly 28 games for this option before you start paying too much money. And the $199 price point for the full package is not going to please fans if the technical issues (mostly connection based) aren't rectified.
At least there is more flexibility this time around for picking and choosing TV game tickets for $6.99 as long as you plan that out properly. If you find yourself trying to buy a Hornets-Nets game in January, please seek help.
