Former NBA star and current Detroit Pistons assistant coach Tim Hardaway was charged last April with, effectively, driving under the influence near his home in Beverley Hills. Techincally it was worded as "operating with high blood alcohol content," which ClickOnDetroit.com reports was more than just a tad over the legal limit:

Tim Hardaway, who is entering his third season with the Pistons, is accused of drunken driving after police said his blood alcohol content was twice over the legal limit when an officer pulled him over in Beverly Hills.

The 5-time NBA All-Star was pulled over less than one block from his home and just down the street from the police station. The officer spotted Hardaway's car along 13 Mile Road and Lasher Road.

These court records obtained only by Local 4 reveal back in April, Hardway was stopped and charged with "operating with high blood alcohol content."

The report is unclear whether Hardaway was arrested during the incident. Hardaway played 15 seasons in the NBA, including his stint as part of "Run-TMC" in Golden State, and was a five-time All-Star in the 90s. His son, Tim Hardaway Jr., plays for the Atlanta Hawks.

The report states that Hardaway's attorney suggested he is working toward an arrangement to avoid trial for the incident. Typically coaches and players are fined two games by the NBA following a DUI conviction. Detroit opens its season Wednesday, October 26 vs. the Raptors.
