Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry suffered an injury to "his left ring finger tendon," the team announced Thursday. The good news is that Lowry will play through it and will miss neither practice nor games with the injury. The bad news is it will require a splint for six weeks. It's in his non-shooting hand, so it hopefully won't influence his shot much, but it's still a painful distraction.

Lowry averaged 12 points, five rebounds, and six assists last year for Toronto after being traded there in the summer of 2012. This year is a big one for him, not only on account of the Raptors expecting to make a playoff run, but he's in a contract year and Toronto is very much in an assessment mode right now. Early season struggles could contribute to a later decision to move on from the temperamental bulldog.
