Kyrie Irving is not exactly known for his defense. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard is quicker than most of his opponents and one of the most skilled offensive players on the planet, but he often finds himself out of position and gets beaten off the dribble. Occasionally, though, Irving will make a stunning defensive play. Like when he rejected Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry's layup at the rim in the second quarter of Game 2 of the NBA Finals:

Kyrie Irving, rim protector. Totally normal!

In all seriousness, that play is impressive because of the timing, the fact that he used his left hand and the fact that it was against Curry, one of the best finishers in the league. Curry almost never gets blocked near the basket, but Irving surprised him.

Imagine how great the Cavs would be if Irving affected games on the defensive end all the time.
