When the champagne was flowing and the cigars were getting lit, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Richard Jefferson announced his retirement. Now that he has had a little time to think about it, he has changed his mind and will try to defend the championship with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and the whole gang. Jefferson announced Wednesday that he's coming back to the Cavaliers on a two-year deal.
This contract will take him into the 16th and 17th seasons of his career.

Jefferson was an instrumental part of the Cavaliers' run in the playoffs when the team went small. He played so well in small doses with the Cavs' small lineup that there were questions of whether Kevin Love should be starting and playing much as the Cavs' title run continued. It was a bit of random, good fortune that put Jefferson on the Cavs' roster.
When DeAndre Jordan went back on his verbal agreement to sign with the Dallas Mavericks last offseason, Jefferson switched gears with his decision and decided to chase a ring with the Cavs. He made 38.2 percent of his 3-pointers this season for Cleveland, and is a career 38 percent shooter.
