PHOENIX -- Despite all the talk of J.J. Watt potentially stealing the award with an incredible defensive season, Aaron Rodgers was named the 2014 NFL MVP on Saturday night at the 4th annual NFL Honors award show.

Rodgers thanked Peyton Manning, who presented the award and said he looked good and told him he should come "back for another year."

Rodgers, who won his second MVP award on Saturday night, also gave girlfriend Olivia Munn an "I love you" from the stage.

Rodgers was outstanding in 2014, leading the Packers to a 12-4 record and nearly a Super Bowl berth, save for a furious Seahawks comeback in the NFC Championship Game.

The Packers quarterback completed 65.6 percent of his passes, and threw for 4,381 yards 38 touchdowns and just five interceptions.

We love to debate the possibility of the award going elsewhere, but the reality is Rodgers deserved it all along. Don't get me wrong: Watt was amazing. But Rodgers was the best player in football at the most important position. Still, it was a historic showing for the Texans star.

Rodgers received 31 votes for MVP, while Watt garnered 13 votes. Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray each received two votes and someone actually voted for Bobby Wagner, which is just weird.
