Perhaps we should have known all along that the Chargers were heavy favorites to beat the Bengals in Cincinnati for one very simple reason: Philip Riverswas sporting his game-day bolo tie.

Apparently, it's become something of a post-game celebratory spectacle, which we've seen previously, following the Chargers' Nov. 24 victory over the Chiefs, and again on Dec. 14 when the Chargers outlasted the Broncos in Denver.

If this look seems familiar, it should. (NFL Network)

It gets weirder: The Chargers could be your AFC representative in the Super Bowl. Because bolo ties and seemingly meaningless stats say so.
