The defense and prosecution finished with their closing arguments, and jurors began deliberating for an hour-and-a-half Tuesday in the trial of former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, reports the Associated Press. The trial will resume deliberations on Wednesday, according to CNN.com.

During his closing argument, Hernandez's lawyer James Sultan acknowledged for the first time in trial that his client was at the scene of the murder.

"Did he make all the right decisions? No," Sultan said. "He was a 23-year-old kid who witnessed something, a shocking killing, committed by somebody he knew. He really didn't know what to do, so he just put one foot in front of the other."

Hernandez is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of Odin Lloyd and charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

District Attorney William McCauley told jurors during closing arguments that Hernandez was the man responsible for the murder of Odin Lloyd.

"He planned it," McCauley said. "He came up with the pretext of getting Odin Lloyd to meet him that night."

Three jurors were chosen as alternatives with the remaining 12 deliberating the case to decide if Hernandez is guilty of the charges.
