NFL Films honored Sabol on Friday. (US Presswire)

When Steve Sabol died of brain cancer in September, we all got to see (and remember) the legacy he left behind at NFL Films and how he and his father, Ed Sabol, changed the way we watch and study pro football. Steve Sabol was a legend, and the celebration of his life continues today.

In tribute, the address for NFL Films' headquarters in Mount Laurel, N.J., has been changed to reflect the significance of Steve Sabol’s life and the love his employees and colleagues had for him.

As NFL.com writes, the address at the headquarters has changed from One NFL Plaza to One Sabol Way. In a ceremony Friday, a flag with his initials, SDS, was raised on the NFL Films campus.

Sabol’s parking spot also will be memorialized with three stars representing the company’s past, present and future, and a dwarf redwood tree was planted in his honor.

As NFL.com’s Justin Hathaway writes, “After the outdoors ceremony wrapped, with many a teary eye and the sun shining bright, NFL Films employees headed into the lobby for a reception and a chance to share stories about their late leader. Looming above them was a new photo, of the Sabols accepting one of NFL Films' 107 Emmys, and adorned with this quote from Steve: ‘Life is great. ... Football is better.’”

It always was when Steve Sabol was in control.
