Bickel on the big screen. (@pcollett88)

Stu Bickel was an afterthought in the Rangers' 2-1 win over the Capitals on Wednesday night in triple overtime. He was healthy but only skated three shifts all game long for a grand total of 3:24. The rest of the night he was an extra on the bench, watching fellow defenseman Ryan McDonagh play 53:21.

Turns out that's a role that Bickel has experience in going back to his days as a childhood movie star. By movie star I mean serving as an extra in Mighty Ducks 3.

Growing up in Minnesota, Bickel played a little filler spot for the movie when the kids in the movie were sent to the Land of Lakes. That's when he got his big moment on screen.

"Got me all the girls in 3rd grade!" Bickel tweeted about his venture into Hollywood.

And hey, he got to ride a rollercoaster while he was at it. Not a bad day's work.

The irony of it all? Bickel was originally signed by the Ducks as an undrafted free agent after a season at the University of Minnesota.

My question is what was worse; getting stuck to the bench in a triple OT game or being associated with MD3? Probably MD3.
