Premier League star Harry Kane has revealed who his hero is, but to the surprise of many it isn't an English soccer legend like Sir Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker or Alan Shearer. It isn't even a soccer player.

Speaking to The Independent, Kane, Tottenham's star striker, went with five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady of the New England Patriots.

"Tom Brady is a big inspiration and a big idol of mine," Kane said. "'The Brady Six' shows how he was underestimated, when he went late in the draft. But he worked hard and believed in himself and that is what I have tried to take in my career. Maybe when I was younger people didn't always believe in me, they didn't think I would make it to where I am now. It is about that self-belief, that self-drive, that has got me to where I am now. So watching him, seeing how he has done it, to become probably the greatest of all time in his sport, I have used that to help me."

Not completely strange. Kane was with the Arsenal youth teams when he was eight but was released after one year. Then, as time went on, he found himself at Arsenal's rival Tottenham, where he has tuned into one of the top strikers in the Premier League. He blew up in 2014-15 with 31 goals and followed it up with 28 the next season. This season he has 16 goals in 22 games, and like Brady has gone from someone who was little known to a star, plus he is a big football fan.

The 23-year-old has yet to win a major trophy, but Brady also hadn't won a Super Bowl at 23. But if he keeps Brady as his inspiration and puts in the work, who knows where he can end up. Not many thought Brady could do it, so why not Kane?
