  • Wenyen Gabriel: Deal expires

The Clippers didn't re-sign Gabriel after his 10-day contract expired Friday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Now that his time in the NBA is over, Gabriel is expected to rejoin the G League's Wisconsin Herd, with whom he played before inking the first of his three 10-day deals in December. After his week-and-a-half stint with the Nets, Gabriel linked up with the Clippers on a pair of 10-day deals. He appeared in five games during his time with LA, averaging 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds in 7.5 minutes.

  • Clippers' Wenyen Gabriel: Re-ups with Clippers

The Clippers re-signed Gabriel on a second 10-day contract Tuesday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.

Gabriel was briefly a free agent after his first 10-day deal with the Clippers expired Monday, but since the team was off that day, LA waited until Tuesday before adding him back to the roster on a new contract. He'll be sticking with the Clippers on a hardship exemption, which the NBA granted the team after Justise Winslow entered the COVID-19 health and safety protocols Sunday. Gabriel is expected to be a fringe member of the rotation for the duration of his deal.

The Nets are planning to sign Gabriel to a 10-day contract Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Gabriel has been playing for the G League's Wisconsin Herd this season, averaging 13.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Gabriel tallied 26 points (11-20 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 16 rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot over 36 minutes Friday in Wisconsin's 131-127 victory against Grand Rapids.

Gabriel notched season highs in both points and rebounds in the win, and he tied his season-best mark with three three-pointers. The 24-year-old also extended his streak of games with at least one swat to eight. Gabriel is averaging 13.9 points, 7.9 boards, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 steals per contest on the campaign.

  • Wenyen Gabriel: Swats four shots for Wisconsin

Gabriel played 31 minutes in Wisconsin's 111-108 win over Fort Wayne on Friday and totaled 19 points (7-11 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, four blocked shots and one steal.

Gabriel finished with a 7-for-11 line from the field for the second straight game, and he set a season high with the four blocks. The 6-foot-9 forward has swatted at least one shot in each of his four G League contests this season, and he is averaging a healthy 17.0 points, 7.5 boards, 1.5 steals and 2.2 blocks while shooting 56.5 percent from the field. Gabriel is looking to get back to the NBA level after logging 51 games between Portland, Sacramento and New Orleans over the previous two seasons.

  • Wenyen Gabriel: Posts double-double in G League win

Gabriel tallied 18 points (9-17 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocked shots over 32 minutes for Wisconsin in a 126-124 victory versus the Charge on Monday.

Gabriel is among the more NBA-seasoned players in the G League, as he played 51 combined Association games between Portland, Sacramento and New Orleans over the past two campaigns. He hasn't done much with those opportunities but did show flashes of potential with the Pelicans near the end of last season. Given his box-score-stuffing effort Monday, he should be among the featured players for Wisconsin this season.

Gabriel is questionable for Friday's game at Charlotte due to a right lower back contusion.
