Two weeks from today there will be college football games being played. Simply typing that sentence sent a tingle down my spine.

One of the biggest games on that first Thursday of the season will be played between Utah and Michigan, and on Wednesday the Utes showed off the special "satin red" helmets they'll be wearing against the Wolverines.

And they're nice.

As for what exactly constitutes a "satin" helmet, it looks like a chrome helmet and a matte helmet had a baby together to produce this lovely little mutt. Maybe it should be called mutte instead of satin?

I don't know, but I know I like the look.
