The Angels optioned Hoyt to Triple-A Salt Lake following Saturday's 1-0 win over the Athletics.
Hoyt was sent to the minors to clear room on the active roster for starting pitcher Reid Detmers, who was called up from Triple-A ahead of his big-league debut in Sunday's series finale. During his two-day stint with the Angels, Hoyt appeared in one game out of the bullpen, retiring the only batter he faced.
