Barrera was added to Oakland's 60-player roster pool Wednesday.
The 24-year-old made a strong impression before the shutdown of spring training and will look to pick up where he left off. Barrera had a .321/.357/.513 slash line with 11 triples, four homers and nine stolen bases in 54 games for Double-A Midland last year.
