Long was officially called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
The 23-year-old will join the Mariners as expected Friday as Dee Gordon and Dylan Moore are both dealing with wrist issues, with the latter landing on the injured list. Long has played second base, third base and left field at Tacoma this season and figures to fill a reserve role during his first major-league stint.
