Adams was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

The right-hander, whom Washington acquired from the Angels in the Danny Espinosa trade, put together a 3.05 ERA with 61 strikeouts and 24 walks in 41.1 innings at Double-A Arkansas last year. At 25 years old, Adams doesn't exactly ooze with intrigue, but putting up something close to those numbers at Syracuse could at least save him a seat on the shuttle to Washington.
