Fillmyer signed a minor-league contract with the Padres on Sunday that includes an invite to major-league spring training.
Fillmyer made 21 appearances (16 starts) for Triple-A Columbus in 2021 but sputtered to a 6.18 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 83 innings. He has a 5.07 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 104.2 innings across two seasons in the majors, and he'll get a chance to work with San Diego's big-league coaching staff this spring.
