Holt (foot) came in as a pinch hitter Monday and finished the game against the Blue Jays at second base. He went 1-for-1 with a double.
His foot had apparently still been sore after getting hit by a pitch last week, but now that he showed he could hit and take the field, albeit off the bench, it seems he is feeling better. With rosters expanding and the Red Sox at full health, Holt will be primarily used off the bench over the final four weeks.
