Campana was headed to spring training on a minor-league deal. The 28-year-old Campana has played for the Cubs, Diamondbacks and Angels over four MLB seasons. Even with a number of injuries lingering in the Diamondbacks outfield, they announced Friday that outfielder Tony Campana will not break camp with the team. Campana, acquired in February from the Cubs via trade, will be sent to Triple-A Reno to begin the year. Campana's poor play in the spring likely doomed him, as he finished with a .240 batting average and .269 on-base percentage.
