Kolozsvary signed a minor-league contract with the Red Sox on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports. Kolozsvary saw spot duty in the big leagues with the Reds and Orioles the last two seasons, going 4-for-20 at the plate. The 28-year-old is in line to begin the 2024 campaign at Triple-A Worcester as catching depth.... See More ... See Less

Twins' Mark Kolozsvary: Signs MiLB deal
Minnesota signed Kolozsvary to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul reports. Kolozsvary declined his outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk last week, and the 27-year-old backstop will instead head to Triple-A St. Paul to provide organizational depth behind the plate for Minnesota. The Twins would need to add him to the 40-man roster if they deem him worthy of a promotion.... See More ... See Less -
Mark Kolozsvary: Elects free agency
Kolosvary cleared waivers and elected free agency Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Kolozsvary was optioned to Triple-A and later designated for assignment by the Orioles on Wednesday. Rather than accepting an assignment to Norfolk, the 27-year-old backstop will look to catch on with another organization in hopes of remaining on a 40-man roster.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Mark Kolozsvary: Dropped from 40-man roster
Kolozsvary was designated for assignment Wednesday by the Orioles. Kolozsvary was optioned to Triple-A earlier Wednesday and he is now no longer a part of the team's 40-man roster. Right-handed pitcher Reed Garrett had his contract selected from Triple-A and will replace Kolozsvary on the 40-man roster Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Mark Kolozsvary: Selected from Norfolk
The Orioles selected Kolozsvary from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. With Ryan Mountcastle (illness) landing on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Kolozsvary will serve as Mountcastle's roster replacement. The 27-year-old backstop hasn't had much success at the plate in Triple-A, slashing just .162/.250/.265 through 76 plate appearances. He will presumably serve as a bench piece while in the majors.... Reds' Mark Kolozsvary: Sent to minors
The Reds optioned Kolozsvary to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday. Kolozsvary lost his spot on the 26-man active roster to fellow catcher Austin Romine, whom the Reds acquired from the Cardinals on Tuesday. During his latest stint in the big leagues, Kolozsvary saw scant action behind No. 1 backstop Michael Papierski, who should face a stiffer challenge for the top job from Romine.... See More ... Reds' Mark Kolozsvary: Recalled by Reds
Kolozsvary was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Saturday. Kolozsvary has appeared in seven major-league games this year, going 1-for-11 with a double, a run, an RBI and five strikeouts. Reds' Mark Kolozsvary: Returns to minors
The Reds optioned Kolozsvary to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. With Tyler Stephenson (concussion) back from a stint on the 7-day injured list, Kolozsvary won't stick around as a No. 3 catcher. He served as Aramis Garcia's backup during his brief stay in Cincinnati, appearing in six games while going 1-for-11 with an RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Reds' Mark Kolozsvary: Recalled by Cincinnati
Kolozsvary was recalled by the Reds on Wednesday. Kolozsvary was added to the Reds' taxi squad Saturday, and he'll now join the active roster to provide depth behind the plate after Tyler Stephenson (concussion) was placed on the 7-day injured list Wednesday. The Reds selected Kolozsvary's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Kolozsvary will assume the 40-man roster spot and 28-man active roster spot of Tyler Stephenson, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, presumably for reasons related to COVID-19. The Reds are expected to lean heavily on No. 1 backstop Tucker Barnhart while Stephenson is out, likely leaving Kolozsvary to pick up one or two starts per week. Between stops at Louisville and Double-A Chattanooga in 2021, the 26-year-old backstop slashed .219/.327/.411 with seven home runs in 55 games.... See More ... See Less
