Wiliams (knee) was released by the Warriors on Thursday, Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Williams was one of the few training-camp invitees viewed as a serious contender to win a 15-man roster spot, but his bid was undone by a knee scope that kept him off the court for the entire preseason. Once healthy, Williams will likely have to restore his stock in the D-League, where he was one of the top players on the circuit a season ago.
