Ariza underwent arthroscopic debridement surgery on his right ankle Wednesday and will be reevaluated in eight weeks, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports.

Ariza missed the first two games of the preseason due to the ankle issue, and he'll now be sidelined for the first two months of the season after going under the knife. The 36-year-old inked a one-year deal with the Lakers in August, but he won't debut with his new team until a least mid-December. Kent Bazemore, Talen Horton-Tucker, Malik Monk and Carmelo Anthony could all be more involved for Los Angeles with Ariza sidelined.
