Ariza and the Kings agreed to terms Sunday on a two-year, $25 millions contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Ariza was not expected to return to the Wizards, but it was unclear where he would go. He will now bring a veteran presence to an up-and-coming Kings team. The 34-year-old will presumably provide depth at both forward positions for Sacramento.
Head coach Scott Brooks said Tuesday that Ariza (groin) is unlikely to play again this season, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reports. Ariza has already missed the last three games with a left groin strain, and the veteran swingman being ruled out for the rest of the season isn't too surprising to hear given where the Wizards currently stand. Ariza will now re-enter free agency this offseason after signing a one-year, $15 million deal for this year.
Ariza (groin) will be held out of Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports. Ariza is set to miss his third-straight game with a left groin strain. Given that he's without a timeline for return, he can be considered day-to-day going into Wednesday's tilt with the Bulls.
Ariza (groin) won't play Friday against Utah. Ariza will miss his second straight contest while battling a left groin strain. He'll continue to be evaluated on a day-to-day basis and should be considered questionable for Sunday's clash with Denver.
Ariza (groin) won't play Wednesday against the Suns. As expected, Ariza will sit out Wednesday after exiting Tuesday's loss to the Lakers when he aggravated the left groin injury that had sidelined him the previous two games. Given the recurring nature of the injury as well as the Wizards' status as a non-contending team, there's a decent chance Ariza misses additional time beyond Wednesday. Bobby Portis will likely rejoin the starting five at power forward alongside Thomas Bryant with Ariza sitting.
