Ellis (undisclosed) inked a contract with the Dolphins' practice squad Thursday, per the NFL's official transaction page.
Ellis was let go by the Saints with an injury settlement this offseason with an undisclosed injury, but he appears to be back to full health. The Maryland product will look to make a push for a 53-man roster spot around the league, as he's yet to suit up in regular-season action in the NFL.
