Kinkaid was assigned to AHL Colorado on Sunday.
Kinkaid had been serving as a depth goalie for the Avalanche during the playoffs. The defending Stanley Cup champions were eliminated in Game 7 by Seattle on Sunday, so Kinkaid will report back to Colorado's minor-league affiliate.
