The Blue Jackets placed Harrington (upper body) on injured reserve retroactive to Sept. 28 on Wednesday.
Although he's been placed on IR, Harrington is still considered day-to-day with his upper-body injury, which suggests he could be ready to return as soon as Friday against Carolina.
