Milano will not be traded to the Golden Knights, despite the Blue Jackets agreeing to deal a prospect in order to dissuade the new club from picking one of Josh Anderson, Jack Johnson, David Savard or goalie Joonas Korpisalo, The Columbus Dispatch reports.

According to the report, both Milano and 2016 third overall draft pick Pierre-Luc Dubois will be off limits as far as prospects are concerned. Hockey fans should view this alleged agreement as a handshake deal, since the NHL's roster freeze won't go into effect until 3 p.m. Saturday. From there, protected player lists must be submitted, and the names will be revealed to the public Sunday. It's no surprise that Milano is off limits to the expansion club, as he boasts a tremendous offensive skill set and the Jackets should have big plans for the youngster after nabbing him with the 16th overall pick in the 2014 draft. The highly touted winger was up with the parent club for four games during the regular season, but he went minus-3 over that span. He's got to start somewhere, right?
