The Canadiens placed Belzile on waivers Sunday, Matt Cudzinowski of the Canadiens' official site reports.
With the transaction, Belzile becomes a candidate for Montreal's taxi squad if he goes unclaimed. The 25-year-old forward, who has yet to play a game in the NHL, had seven goals and seven assists over 20 games for AHL Laval in 2019-20.
