Gustafsson (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday.
In a corresponding move, Jeffrey Viel was recalled from AHL Manitoba under emergency conditions. It's unclear at this time when Gustafsson will be available to return, but he won't play Sunday versus Minnesota. He has already missed the past two contests. Gustafsson has four points, 19 shots on net and 12 blocked shots across 27 outings this season.
