Brown (undisclosed) was assigned to AHL Syracuse on Saturday.
This move comes as a bit of a surprise because Brown is currently out indefinitely due to an undisclosed injury. He would have been a candidate to start the year on injured reserve. Brown produced two goals and four assists in 30 games with St. Louis last season.
