Sheary departed Monday's Game 3 overtime loss to the Capitals with a facial injury in the second period and did not return, USA Today reports.
Sheary was absolutely leveled (unintentionally, of course) by teammate Patric Hornqvist, who had the Capitals' Lars Eller lined up before Eller dodged the hit at the last minute. No update was provided by the team after the game, but if Sheary and Sidney Crosby -- who left in the first period with an undisclosed injury -- are forced to miss Game 4 on Wednesday, the Pens will have their work cut out for them down two of their most dangerous offensive weapons. Look for further update on Sheary's status Tuesday or Wednesday prior to puck drop.
