Hollowell was placed on waivers Sunday, Chris Johnston of TSN reports.
Hollowell contributed 13 assists in 18 games with AHL Toronto last season. He also registered two helpers and six blocked shots in six outings with the Maple Leafs last campaign. If he clears, Hollowell will report to AHL Hartford.
