Nosek scored the Wings' only goal -- and the first of his career -- in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Carolina.

In a game that saw the Wings generate very little offense -- surely thanks in no small part to playing the third game of a back-to-back-to-back set -- it was Nosek, who was well rested thanks to sitting out Monday, who broke through for their only tally. This was also the first point of Nosek's career, but the 24-year-old Czech has impressed in the AHL this year (40 points in 49 games) and could earn some more down-the-stretch ice time for a Detroit team that's ending its 25-year streak of making the playoffs.
