  • Athanasiou scored a goal in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Oilers in Game 5. Athanasiou checked back into the lineup for Gabriel Vilardi after sitting out Game 4 as a healthy scratch. The 27-year-old Athanasiou rewarded head coach Todd McLellan's faith, scoring in the second period of Game 5. This was the forward's first point in four playoff contests, and he's added six shots on net with a minus-3 rating.

  • Athanasiou scored a goal on four shots, went plus-2 and added two PIM in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Blackhawks. Athanasiou got loose for a breakaway and scored at 11:45 of the third period. It was his first point in three games since he returned from a month-long absence with an undisclosed injury. Staying healthy has often been the 27-year-old's biggest issue. He has 15 points, 61 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 25 contests. Athanasiou will have strong fantasy appeal as long as he remains in a top-line role.

  • Athanasiou (undisclosed) is expected to suit up versus Columbus on Saturday, LA Kings Insider Zach Dooley reports. Athanasiou has missed significant chunks of the season due to various injuries this year, playing in just 22 games for the Kings. When healthy, the 27-year-old center has been relatively productive considering he has nine goals, five assists and 51 shots while averaging 14:41 of ice time. In addition to linking up with the Kings' top line, Athanasiou should also be in the mix for minutes with the No. 1 power-play unit.

  • Athanasiou (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve retroactive to March 10 on Saturday. Now that he's on IR, Athanasiou will miss LA's next four games at a minimum. Rasmus Kupari or Lias Andersson will likely replace Athanasiou in the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Sharks.

  • Athanasiou scored a goal on four shots, dished an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Sharks. Athanasiou helped out on a Phillip Danault goal and scored one of his own in a span of eight seconds in the first period. The 27-year-old Athanasiou has three goals and a helper in three games since he returned from an undisclosed injury. He's seen second-line usage with Viktor Arvidsson (lower body) out. Athanasiou has 14 points, 51 shots on net and a plus-2 rating in 22 appearances this season, but he could be in line for a bump if he continues to play in a top-six role.
