Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka agreed ahead of the 2020 Ryder Cup to put their ongoing feud on hold for the betterment of the Americans' chances of winning this week at Whistling Straits, but no one saw coming what happened Sunday after the U.S. clinched a dominant 19-9 win over the Europeans. The two shared an embrace. Twice.

The first hug came after each of them secured wins in Sunday singles with DeChambeau putting away Sergio Garcia 3&2 and Koepka taking down Bernd Wiesberger 2&1 and the Americans trending towards a victory. After their respective individual matches, Koepka congratulated his teammate with a handshake that turned into a brief bro hug.

The second hug came at the end of a joint press conference with the entire U.S. team. After their media availability, Justin Thomas suggested the two hug it out "to prove how much of a team we are." DeChambeau, standing in front of the Ryder Cup trophy, motioned towards Koepka to join him down front and the two again hugged it out as Thomas sang "Why Can't We Be Friends" in the back. Then the Americans teased both of them by saying "Brooksie," the chant that has haunted DeChambeau at PGA Tour events recently.

For as much attention as the Koepka-DeChambeau beef has gotten in recent months -- most of it deserved -- it does seem that the two were able to set aside their differences this week to help the U.S. in their endeavor to take down the Europeans.

U.S. captain Steve Stricker even admitted on Sunday that they wanted to play together this week, though they were never paired together in foursomes or in four-ball (which was probably the right call even if we were undoubtedly robbed of what would've been incredible content).

"Speechless. These guys all came together," Stricker said Sunday fighting back tears. "They had a mission this week. I mean, Brooks and Bryson wanted to play together. That's how much they all came together. This is a new era for USA golf."
