The PGA Tour season rolls on as the west coast swing continues with the Farmers Insurance Open 2022 set to tee off on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif.. The event will feature rounds on both the North and South courses, and concludes on Saturday, Jan. 29 to avoid any potential scheduling overlap with the NFL conference championship games. The tournament purse is $8.4 million, with $1.512 million going to the winner. Caesars Sportsbook lists World No. 1 Jon Rahm as the 7-1 betting favorite in its latest 2022 Farmers Insurance Open golf odds. Justin Thomas (12-1), Xander Schauffele (16-1), Hideki Matsuyama (18-1), Dustin Johnson (18-1), and Bryson DeChambeau (18-1) are also among the top contenders in the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open field.

Patrick Reed (40-1) is the reigning Farmers Insurance Open champion, making him a likely popular PGA one and done pick this week at Torrey Pines. Is Reed a must-play? Or would it make more sense to go with a superstar like Rahm, Thomas or Johnson? Before locking in your Farmers Insurance Open one and done picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say

The One and Done format is growing in popularity. It has several noticeable similarities to NFL Survivor pools, with the main difference being entries are not eliminated with a bad week. Players pick one golfer per week (often with a backup in case of a last minute withdrawal) and earn points based on their selected golfer's prize money for that tournament. Golfers can only be used once per season, and the point format makes nailing majors and big money tournaments critical.

McClure is a DFS legend with nearly $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his golf picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks. Two week at the Sony Open, McClure's model listed Hideki Matsuyama among the top contenders. The reigning Masters champion went out and overcame a five-stroke deficit on the back nine of the final round to notch his eighth career PGA Tour victory.

Last week at The American Express, McClure listed Patrick Cantlay and Sungjae Im among his favorite one and done picks, and both players did not disappoint. Cantlay finished in 9th, earning $222,300, while Im finished T-11, earning himself $184,300.

Two weeks ago at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, McClure included Jon Rahm and Daniel Berger among his top PGA picks. The result: Rahm came in second with a score of 33-under par, while Berger secured a top-five finish with a score of 25-under par. Anybody that included them in their one and done picks is in great shape after two weeks.

At the 2021 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in November, McClure's model was all over Viktor Hovland (18-1) winning his third PGA Tour title. At the 2021 Open Championship, McClure's best bets included Collin Morikawa winning outright even though he was listed as a massive 40-1 long shot. In addition, McClure's model was all over Jon Rahm's (10-1) first career major championship victory at the 2021 U.S. Open.

McClure's model is also up nearly $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has dialed in on the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open golf tournament, and just locked in his picks and PGA predictions. You can only see McClure's The American Express one and done picks at SportsLine.

2022 American Express One and Done expert picks

One of McClure's favorite one and done picks for the 2022 Farmers Open is 28-year-old Daniel Berger. The No. 20 player in the world is a rising PGA Tour star, and McClure is leaning on his dominant recent form when setting his one and done picks this week.

In his last outing, Berger finished T-5 at the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions. His statistics during his breakout 2021 season also suggest Berger could contend at Torrey Pines. He finished eighth in scoring average, fifth in strokes gained approach, 11th in strokes gained total, and 14th in strokes gained tee to green. If he is sharp on and around the green this week at Torrey Pines, he should contend for his fifth career PGA Tour victory.
