Tee times and groupings have been announced for the 2022 Open Championship, and one of the featured groups will tee off at 4:58 a.m. ET from the Old Course at St Andrews. That trio of golfers includes the two players with the shortest 2022 Open Championship odds, Rory McIlroy (9-1) and Xander Schauffele (14-1), as well as defending champion Collin Morikawa (25-1). Those Open Championship 2022 odds come courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook, which also has Tiger Woods as a 60-1 long shot as he returns to competition. The three-time British Open champion will tee off at 9:59 a.m. ET alongside Max Homa (50-1) and U.S. Open winner Matt Fitzpatrick (16-1).

Apart from playing the odds, there are also numerous 2022 British Open prop bets and PGA DFS tournaments to get in on. Which Fantasy golf sleepers and long shots should you consider before making any 2022 Open Championship bets and setting any PGS DFS lineups? Before locking in any picks of your own for the Open Championship 2022, be sure to check out the PGA predictions and betting advice from SportsLine's team of proven golf experts.

Mike McClure, who has over $2 million in career DFS winnings and is the architect of SportsLine's proprietary simulation model, has been red-hot when it comes to picking major championship winners. Patrick McDonald covers golf for CBS Sports and is up more than 64 units on his outright picks in 2022. Riley Gates is a fantasy golf guru, who has been on a tear this season, nailing two 40-1 outright winners. Jim Holliman has covered the sport for nearly 25 years, and like SportsLine's other experts, he has been nailing pick after pick in 2022.

Now, the experts have their sights on the 2022 British Open field and just revealed their top PGA prop bets. You can head to SportsLine now to see all of the experts' 2022 Open Championship prop picks, sleepers, head-to-head matchups, best bets, and top one and done pick.

Top 2022 Open Championship prop bets

Gates, who has been nailing top-10 picks all year, is confidently backing Shane Lowry to finish in the top 10 of the final 2022 Open Championship leaderboard at +240 odds. The 2019 British Open champion has three top-five finishes this year, including a third place finish at the Masters. The 35-year-old ranks eighth on the PGA Tour in strokes gained on approach (0.748) and total strokes gained (1.615). He's 10th in strokes gained tee to green (1.264).

Gates expects another strong showing for the Irishman this week at St. Andrews. "What Lowry does do is post very low scores and contends. With four top-10 finishes this season, I expected a fifth in the final major of the year," Gates told SportsLine. See more 2022 Open Championship props here.

Players to fade at the 2022 Open Championship

One massive shocker: Holliman is completely fading PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas, even though he is widely considered one of the top contenders in the 2022 British Open field. However, Thomas has struggled mightily on links courses throughout his career, evident by his missed the cut at last week's Scottish Open. Apart from his two PGA Championships, Thomas has a pair of top-10s at both the U.S. Open and Masters, but he's failed to secure a top-10 finish in five career British Open starts.

Thomas' biggest flaw in his game is his accuracy off the tee, where he ranks 168th in driving accuracy percentage (55.28 percent). That weakness will only be magnified at St Andrews, which is infamous for blustery winds that can wreck a seemingly straight drive. Holliman readily admits that Thomas doesn't have the temperament to stay calm if that takes place, a major reason why he's not high on the PGA champion this week. Instead, Holliman is backing several other golfers, including a 35-1 long shot, here.
