Giants outfielder Angel Pagan told MLB.com Sunday that surgery was mentioned as a possible option for repairing his strained left hamstring. But Pagan, who received a platelet-rich plasma injection last week, believes he can heal sufficiently without surgery. 

The Giants have not set up a timetable for his return.

"I'm very optimistic that I'm going to be in the lineup soon," Pagan said. "When? I don't know."
