Astros, Jose Altuve look awesome

For Friday night's game against the Reds, Houston busted out the greatest uniforms in the history of humankind. Second baseman Jose Altuve, it goes without saying, wore it well.

Against Cincinnati on Friday night, the Astros unfurled the old "technicolor dreamcoat" uniforms from the 1970s and 1980s. I indulge in no pre-, neo- or post-irony when I say that they look stupendous. I simply mean that they look stupendous. They are at once fashion-backward and fashion-forward. They contain multitudes.

As you'll soon see, second baseman Jose Altuve, already admirable in so many ways, displays an almost palpable sense of pride and self-investment in the way he looks. And he is right to feel that way. Feast thine eyes:



Thank you for this, Houston Astros. Thank you for bringing some machine-washable, 75%-polyester-blend beauty to this ugly world.
