The Dodgers have a small army of players on the disabled list right now, including starting pitchers Rich Hill and Scott Kazmir. Talented lefty Julio Urias didn't break camp with the team so the Dodgers could continue to hold down his workload and protect his 20-year-old arm, but now they're ready to bring him back:

This isn't a spot start, either, as Roberts further told reporters that Urias will stick in the rotation after Thursday.

Urias was 5-2 with a 3.39 ERA (115 ERA+) in 77 innings last season, but he had a few rough outings early on. After the All-Star break, Urias was 4-0 with a 1.99 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 40 2/3 innings. So far in Triple-A this season, Urias had a 1.93 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 14 innings, though he has walked nine.

Urias worked 5 2/3 innings and threw 93 pitches last time out, so it makes sense to bring him up right now. If he's gonna throw 93 pitches, it might as well be in the majors, where he's clearly good enough to ply his trade.
