Sulbaran pitched five innings against Colorado Springs on Friday. He only allowed one earned run and struck out four to earn a win in his first appearance this year. Sulbaran has never appeared in a major league game since he was drafted in 2008 and will start this season with Triple-A Memphis after splitting time between levels last season within the Royals organization. The 26-year-old struggled mightily during his eight starts with Triple-A Omaha in 2015, posting a 3-3 record with a 6.17 ERA. Even though Sulbaran has provided strikeout potential throughout his minor-league career, he will most likely spend all of 2016 in Memphis trying to improve upon the other aspects of his game.... Bernie Miklasz@miklasz12H agoCardinals are 6-9 at home this season. This includes 3-3 vs. the Marlins & White Sox who are 14-49 in games against other opponents. St. Louis has a .427 home winning pct since start of last season which ranks 27th in MLB.

Bernie Miklasz@miklasz13H agoThe Cardinals franchise was in a bad spot when DeWitt bought it. He did a great job of putting together a successful operation for one of the greatest eras of Cardinals baseball. But franchise leadership let the system/product go stale. And now it’s rotting. Sad.
