Davis was released by the Giants organization Sunday, Andersen Pickard of MLBDailyDish.com reports.
Davis played in just 23 games during the past two seasons, slashing .128/.306/.205 with three runs scored across 49 plate appearances. The 26-year-old outfielder was drafted 87th overall by San Francisco in the 2014 first-year player draft.

Davis was held back in extended spring training as he works his way back from a shoulder injury, MLB.com's Mike Rosenbaum reports.
The 23-year-old outfielder spent much of camp working at third base, so a position change appears to be in the works. A third-round pick in 2014, Davis hit 18 home runs with a .278/.344/.544 slash line in 63 games at High-A last year, but we need to see him produce at an age-appropriate level before taking his raw stats seriously.
